| Description: |
Hotel du Danube Saint Germain, Paris. Once upon a time
The hotel was built as a private mansion at the end of the Third
Empire. It features two buildings located on either side of a
private patio. In the beginning of World War II, General
Sikorsky, head of the polish government in exile in France,
lived here for a few months. In the early 60's, the hotel
offered its very simple comfort to students from the nearby Fine
Arts School (Ecole des Beaux Arts) and to bohemian artists. The Hotel du Danube today: In 1962, Madame Lebesque and her family became the owners of the hotel. To this day, Madame Le Besque, now retired but still very present in the life of the hotel with the help of her grown children, has brought her family trademark in every possible corner of the hotel, making it one of the few hidden gems of Saint-Germain-des-Prés. By selecting the Hotel du Danube, you will reside in a Napoleon III intimate setting. As you enter the hotel, you will be taken over by the flowered chintz of the lobby with carefully selected furniture, original details and the view onto the charming soft-pink patio where, as soon as the weather allows it, tables are laid to enjoy breakfast or take some rest before going for a stroll around the streets of Saint-Germain-des-Prés.Our philosophy: each client is a special guest. |
