Shopping In Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico Shopping Overview

Puerto Rico's shoppers receive a warm-hearted reception. Throughout the island, government established craft centers showcase and train Puerto Rico's resident artists - many of them encourage visitors to visit their studios. Here and at the markets you will find delicately carved religious statuettes, hand-rolled cigars, hand-made lace, carnival masks, men's dress shirts "guayaberas," papier-mache figures and guitars. Four major craft shows are presented in March, May, August and November. The homegrown coffee is robust and the island rum is considered by many to be the best in the world.
