Sporting Life In U.S. Virgin Islands

St. Thomas
Sailing
The variety of crafts for sailing in the harbours of St. Thomas is staggering. Choose your favorite by checking the local newspapers or consult with your hotel. Our favorites were the Nightwind (Ph: 775-4110); and the True Love schooner (Ph: 775-6547) serves a champagne buffet. The Atlantis submarine cruising 90 feet below the surface is a memorable experience (Ph: 776-0288).
Snorkeling & Scuba Diving
Visit Coki Beach, Morning Star Beach, Sapphire Beach and Hull Bay for great snorkeling. Equipment is abundant and conveniently located. All levels for PADI certification at Aqua Action Watersports (Ph: 775-6285) or Joe Vogel Diving Co. (Ph: 775-7610) the later also plans wreck dives. Underwater Safaris (Ph: 774-1350) take divers to Buck Island, home of sunken WWI cargo ship, Cartenser Sr.
Tennis
The island has two free public courts at Sub Base, and some island hotels will rent court time to non-guests.
