The iconic and legendary Hotel Ritz Paris reopened its doors after an extensive renovation in 2016 - and which had brought Cesar Ritz’s crown jewel (originally opened in 1896) back to its Belle Epoque former glory. Restored by the renowned interior architect Thierry W Despont, the property’s essence and history is captured in the words: “The refinement of the French art de vivre meets the elegance of Belle Époque décor: the hotel’s rooms and suites bear the names of Coco Chanel, F. Scott Fitzgerald or Marcel Proust — all of whom considered the Ritz “like a second home”.
Each of the Rooms (375 - 600 SqFt) at Hotel Ritz Paris is as glorious as ever, offering an incomparable ambiance and the most generous hotel spaces in the French capital. Fine woodwork and delicate pastel hues compose an intimate décor where ultimate luxury resides in every detail, accompanied by antique objects and art; as for the hotel’s famous Suites (700 - 2,400 SqFt), they have been restored to their legendary splendor, and have re-emerged from their neoclassical settings enlarged, reconsidered to accommodate the latest technologies and dressed in subtle silks. Bathed in light, some even offer shaded private terraces overlooking the hotel’s magnificent French garden. All Rooms and Suites are equipped with the expected electronic accoutrements including flat-screen TV, spacious bathrooms, safe, complimentary brand toiletries, hair dryer and stocked a mini-bar.
The 2016 restoration to the Ritz included restoration of four restaurants, & bars, including the famed Bar Hemingway, presided over by head bartender, Colin Field, and gorgeous gardens and terraces with retractable roofs and heated floors, designed to be enjoyed all year-long. For gourmet Dining, Restaurant L’Espadon is situated in a lovely pale green and ivory pastel setting; lighter, bistro fare is served in the Bar Vendome which captures the spirit of a great Parisian brasserie, the place to enjoy a steak tartare for lunch, share a dozen oysters with your aperitif, order a sole meunière for dinner or to linger over a cafe creme and savor a pastry; the legendary, Art Deco inspired Ritz Bar - where the word “Ritzy” was coined, is where breakfast begins at 8am with nightcap closing time at 2am. And, of course, Teatime is served from 2:30pm - 6:00pm at the Salon Proust, whose Champagne Bar is available from 6pm - 8pm.
At the two-story, redesigned Ritz Club Paris, the hotel’s signature spa, you are welcomed with an indoor pool and modern fitness center; as well as the CHANEL skin care & beauty experience.
